Girl Vs Monster is a 2012 DCOM fantasy horror starring Olivia Holt and Kerrie Donley. A young teen named Skylar(Holt) accidently brings a possessive monster named Demitria(Trace Dawson) to modern day. Its up to Skylar and her friends along with her monster hunting parents to defeat Demitria and to save the day.
Overall its a decent TV flick. The special effects are fairly good, the acting is OK and the villian was cunning and vindictive.
If you are a fan of DCOM Halloween based films then do give this one a try. Kids might be afraid of it due to its scary themes ( a few jumpscares here and there).

Decent DCOM
Monster girl
Olivia Holt played Dagger in the adaption of the Marvel Comic Cloak and Dagger. She stars in this series - which is a little like Elsa Bloodstone from the Marvel Universe - as Skylar Lewis, the daughter of two monster hunters who must deal with Deimata, the demon that haunted her grandfather and now is making her life horrible.
Seeing as how this is a Disney Channel TV movie, this is closer to a song and dance teen dramedy than the slam bang monster mash that you may be hoping for. That said, there's fun here for younger viewers and solid direction from Stuart Gillard, whose career stretches from the Willie Aames and Phoebe Cates adventure film Paradise and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III to the remake of The Initiation of Sarah, the sequel WarGames: The Dead Code and plenty of episodic television.
What I liked most was the design of the weaponry, which really feels steampunk in the best of ways, and the fact that every main character had their very own fear demon that can only be defeated in very specific ways.
TOO GHOUL FOR SCHOOL
Fifteen year old Sklar (Olivia Holt) is fearless. She can jump high and lip sync. It is Halloween and her parents are "ghost busters" trapping projections of our fears. On Halloween, Skylar, not knowing what her dad does in the basement, lets the things loose. Now with the aid of other clean faced teens, she must re-capture them ghost busters style and face her fear.
The film is for kids. The vocals are overly cut and it appears no one actually sings or plays their instruments...like Monkees on steroids. The cemetery is clearly a stage set.
I can easily see how young girls 5-15 may love this film, but as an adult I couldn't get into it.
