The story is well laid out, with plenty of history and some excellent renditions of the original music and lyrics. Unfortunately, some of the performers had to add their own deviations that made parts of this almost unbearable. These performers described how beautiful and perfect the original version is, then went on to add useless and unnecessary twangs to it - it was a real distraction. Kudos to those performers who kept the song the same, even in their native languages. Korean, Indonesian, Israeli were some of the best. It is worth watching, though, due to the narration and history, and many of the performances. I'm glad I watched it.

Beautiful Story / Some Performers Ruined It
Touching
Beautifully filmed and presented story behind the song Silent Night, obviously... Ruined a bit for me that some of the artists seemed to think it was about them....as well as the song. For me a choir presentation of this song hits the mark, though Bing Crosby effort is soothing in feeling and beauty....and not about him.
What, no Enya?
I loved watching this program. Silent Night is my all time favorite Christmas song. I was disappointed that Enya wasn't part of the cast. Her version of the song is sung in Gaelic. It is by far the most beautiful version that I've ever heard.
