Some Parts Not Child Friendly

While it was a super cute movie for the most part, there were some parts that were definitely not kid friendly. This would include talking about it being "hot" when King Gristle lost his pants at a water park, making out multiple times, talk about bondage by King Gristle and Bridgette, and being unsure how having kids worked between a troll and a bigger creature. Overall, some very uncomfortable scenes when you sit down with your kids, expecting a fun, family movie. I was mostly excited about the *NSync aspect which turned out to just be a very short part at the end. That was extremely disappointing.

Too many adult jokes/themes for kids

Animation was great. Voice acting was great. It was even a good story. The actors and animators did their jobs excellently!

But there were far too many inappropriate references for a kid's movie (drugs, sex, etc.) and so the script needed to be more age appropriate. Granted, some of it will go over their heads but the "chaining me up on our wedding night" and "let's make out" and "the ring pop that gets you high" are just not appropriate.

I know this is common for kids movies (like Shrek) but this was overboard. I wasn't comfortable with my five year old seeing this so we won't be rewatching it.

Also, this is just a personal preference I have as a musician, there is way too much autotune in these movies. It's like listening to a computer sing.

adorable movie

This movie was adorable and fun to watch because the entire franchise has been great and because my sister was in love with these toys as a kid.

The movie had some adult humor in it that I enjoyed as a 25 year old, reminds me of old Dreamwork's movies like Shrek. The movie in itself was well planned out and the music was fantastic. A few things in the movie I struggled with were the moral dilemma in Veneer and the scene where Viva and the golf ball trolls want to kill Bridgette.

The cast list in the movie amazed me with how extensive it was from movie and tv stars like Zoey Deschanel to Kid Cudi to Anna Kendrick. The moral dilemma in Veneer was not well executed in my opinion, I would have either preferred a more direct positive change before the big concert or a immediate change at the end on the boat, not a progressive change. As for the scene where they want to kill Bridgette, I think the idea was great but the fact they didn't make the scene a bit longer, lessened the impact.

The movies music was phenomenal and I will say that again and again. 3/3 on the Trolls franchise soundtracks.

My favorite part: The final scene where NSYNC shows up and sings with Timberlake like they had use to sing together was iconic.
